Autumn countryside with a farmhouse, golden fields, trees, and mountains

Daily Diary (86): Autumn in August

Drought. Wildfires. Apples in August. Trees looking like autumn. It is not ok. The trees are losing their leaves to focus humidity, nutrients and energy to stay alive. Harvests have had very low yields. Potatoes are the size of plums. It is not ok.

Still the human systems in the West seem to sustain themselves. Hose bans, but still water in homes. Disposable bbq are banned, but we are still having fire bbq at home as long as we are careful. How long? When we will accept that isn’t ok?

The start of Autumn is still a month away, but it already feels like October.
