Runner jogging along a winding country road at sunrise

Life feels like a run, and running feels like a good potential metaphor for life.

Running is moving our bodies faster, by the capabilities of our legs to move us forward a bit faster (or a lot) that just walking. Life in the West, the city and in the jobs we have created feels to be running, moving faster. In a race, “the rat race”. Spinning and spinning, but not really moving. Just feeling the same.

Going out for a run, is to exercise our sedentary bodies and lifestyle, but it is also taking in the surroundings, a time to listen music, podcasts or audiobooks. Cramming more, multi-tasking. Running feels sometimes as a way to energise myself, and other times as “running problems away”. You don’t really run away from them because you will return home and then to the office (or home office).

Saturday run done and dusted. There and back from the allotment, while listening a book about synchronicity, steps recorded, a good “productive” run. So efficient, so goal oriented, making fun of myself.
