Nurturing Ideas

Everything starts with an idea. The idea comes while ruminating through thoughts in the middle of the night, in the shower or the bathtub, or while walking the dog in the countryside fields. Every time it arrives, you do not have a pen and paper to write it down, but it sticks with you. Some ideas come and go, but some remain in our memory; we can almost feel them. Those are the ideas worth writing down.

The idea might be worthwhile to sow in a Greenhouse to make it stronger, before then taking it to the world. Sometimes it is so good and ready we can plant it directly in the Allotment to share with the community. Although most of the time it was just another idea that excited us, but it will distract our focus and energy, so it is worthwhile to just put it into the Compost.

An idea will become tangible and real depending on what we do with it.

If we only think and dream about it, it will stay at the stage of incubation, probably in the Greenhouse. One way to explore an idea is to think about it alone, or to study it based on research, both online and offline. Have an interaction with an AI to see what emerges, but always ask it to challenge the idea, because if not, it just confirms your genius. Another way to strengthen your idea is to share it with some people that safely give you feedback. This means you are looking for challengers and coaches, but not “devil’s advocates” ready to bring it down “for your own benefit”. The final, and definite way to validate your idea, is to test it with the people that you are aiming to reach through it, an MVP good enough to show to the world.

This website is an idea. An idea that has been in my head for a long time. It was in the greenhouse of my mind, and now you are reading about it, so clearly I am showing it to the world.

Whenever your idea starts interacting with other people it will take form, and then comes the time for you to decide if it stays as an idea or if it goes and becomes an initiative…
